Beauty Talk #2: Covering up & Chanel Vitalumière Aqua
As described in my previous post about Skincare Routine, having sensitive and unpredictable skin has previously prevented me from daring to go near much makeup. However, as my skin has been improving, I’ve been eager to try out some new techniques and where better to start than from the very foundation. Literally. I have previously used a few different foundations and tried applying them with a brush, a sponge, and with fingers. I have also had a go at a range of tinted moisturisers, but no one product has particularly gripped my attention.
However, when my friend Tiffany kindly did my make-up for my graduation ceremony in June, I was immensely impressed by the foundation she used and immediately bought myself a bottle. Chanel Vitalumière Aqua (I am the shade ‘Beige 30’) feels like a liquid moisturiser. It’s incredibly light, is quickly absorbed by the skin, and it doesn’t feel like you are wearing anything at all. In fact, its lightness is rather deceiving. Looking in the mirror, its hard to imagine that the tiniest amount of this foundation provides quite vast, and effective coverage. It evens out skin tone well (however, dark spots may still need to be covered by concealer). The only downside is the hefty price tag. I haven’t come across another product that is so light on the skin yet still provides sufficient coverage. The bottle is quite small, so we will have to see how long it will last. Any suggestions? What foundation do you use?
